ANEW improves people's lives by providing quality training, employment navigation and supportive services leading to successful family wage careers. 

ANEW was founded in 1980 by women dedicated to improving access and advancement for women in non-traditional career pathways. It is among the oldest pre-apprenticeship programs serving women in the nation. Since its inception, ANEW has run 100+ cohorts and trained thousands of students. Many graduates enter apprentice-able occupations within the building trades. In fact, some of Washington State's female leaders in policy-making, training coordination and labor advocacy began their careers as ANEW students and staff.
