Animal Friends Alliance operates as a veterinary services nonprofit based in Fort Collins, Colorado. It was formed in January 2020 through the merger of Fort Collins Cat Rescue & Spay/Neuter Clinic and Animal House Rescue & Grooming, with the goal of increasing its community impact. The organization runs a limited admission, adoption guarantee shelter for cats and dogs, capping intake due to space and financial constraints while ensuring every animal stays until a suitable adoptive home is found and returns are accepted if needed.

Its clinic provides subsidized spay and neuter services for dogs and cats, along with preventive care such as vaccinations, deworming, heartworm testing, feline viral testing, and microchipping. The PAL+ program and the Kibble Supply Pet Food Pantry support low income pet owners by subsidizing spay and neuter and providing free supplemental pet food. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Animal Friends Alliance relies on donations, fundraising, and grants rather than government funding to support its programs and staffing.
