Animal Rescue Rhode Island (ARRI) is a Rhode Island-based nonprofit organization established in 1938 that rescues abandoned, abused, and surrendered animals without geographic limits and works to place them in adopting homes. The organization emphasizes a humane approach, avoiding euthanasia due to time, space, breed, or treatable conditions, and reports placing more than 600 pets each year, including cats, dogs, and occasionally rabbits and guinea pigs. In addition to adoption services, ARRI runs humane education programs and operates a pet food pantry, supplying tens of thousands of pet meals annually to help keep pets with their owners during financial hardship. The core mission centers on caring for homeless animals and supporting adoptive families and the broader community, funded through the generosity of donors, staff, volunteers, and supporters. A recent development noted is a partnership involving ARRI with Hope & Co alongside other charitable organizations. ARRI is located at 506b Curtis Corner Road in South Kingstown, within the nonprofit sector that includes regional animal welfare organizations.
