ANKOR Energy LLC is an oil and gas operator formed in Spring 2008 to manage assets acquired from Taylor Energy by KNOC USA and Samsung Oil and Gas, with all assets located in the Gulf of Mexico. Ownership is split 80% to KNOC USA and 20% to Samsung Oil and Gas, and in 2010 KNOC USA changed its name to Ankor E & P Holdings, Inc. Since the initial acquisition, the company and its Korean partners have expanded its Gulf of Mexico and onshore Alabama asset base, adding an offshore development project acquired from Newfield Exploration in 2010, and an onshore carbonate exploration project in Alabama later that year. Late in 2011, AEPH and two Korean partners purchased a large package of Gulf of Mexico producing assets from Northstar Offshore Energy Partners and an exploration lease from Houston Energy. 

Based in New Orleans, Louisiana, ANKOR Energy operates in the upstream oil and gas sector, focusing on owning and developing offshore Gulf of Mexico assets and related onshore Alabama properties.
