Anonymous Gallery was established in September of 2008, with the goal of providing art collectors the opportunity to purchase unique works of art from contemporary street artists; these are artists who have influenced popular culture, graphic design, fashion, and the urban environment. Based in New York City, as a brand the gallery capitalizes on the literal meaning on the word “anonymous”, using the city and the world at large as a metaphorical “canvas”, hosting exhibitions in satellite locations globally and utilizing each city’s landscape to design and create public art projects. Using this unique and cost effective form of promotion, advocacy and advertising, Anonymous will continue to engage the public and draw increased interest from art collectors, while reducing the cost of operations. Anonymous’ mission is to continue to raise the awareness and validity of the urban contemporary art market both within the art world (critics, collectors, media) and the community at large. By exposing both communities to this still growing segment of the art industrial complex with their gallery exhibitions, workshops and public art projects, they hope to be at the forefront of raising the bar on this genre of art.
