The Business Area Healthcare & Pharmacies contains the core of APL’s operations, developing and manufacturing of extemporaneous preparations. APL has provided the Swedish healthcare industry these tailor-made pharmaceuticals for over 40 years. The 1st of June 2010 a new regulation on extemporaneous drug pharmacies came into force. The regulation gives pharmaceutical manufacturers the possibility to produce and sell extemporaneous drugs after approval from the Swedish Medical Products Agency. In April 2011, APL gained approval to continue manufacturing and selling extemporaneous drugs. APL cooperates with Swedish pharmacies. Today, APL serves all Swedish pharmacies with extemporaneous drugs. In Business Area Life science, APL offers contract manufacturing of registered pharmaceuticals, development and manufacturing of clinical trial materials (CTM) as well as analytical services. APL supports a wide range of clients, from large global pharmaceutical companies to small enterprises, and is a member of several organizations such as SwedenBIO. APL contributes to pharmaceuticals which improve and save lives.
