Our Company

Every company has its own interesting history. Most companies don't have quite as much as we do.

Appel Heating & Air Conditioning actually began as Appel Oil Corporation in 1948. The Range Line Road office we still occupy was a service station--another branch of the family business. At the heyday of oil heat, Bill Appel Sr. had 1,400 oil customers across Hamilton and Marion Counties.

In 1957, after graduating from Purdue University, Bill's son Ken joined the family business. Ken quickly realized there was a future in providing heating and air conditioning systems for all of those new homes in Hamilton and northern Marion Counties. Appel Heating & Air Conditioning was born in 1965.

Today, Ken's son Scott has joined a business that's grown to become one of the area's best-rated, most-trusted heating and air conditioning specialists. We work in local homes and businesses all day, every day.
