Applied BioCode focuses on research and development, manufacturing, and commercialization of assay testing kits and instruments for in vitro diagnostics, research, and other industrial applications. The HQ of the company is at Los Angles, California.

The company develops, manufactures, and commercializes multiplex diagnostic testing products. Applied BioCode, Inc. has combined "digital barcodes" with immunochemistry and molecular probes to create a new, bio-inspired Barcoded Magnetic Beads (BMB) technology. The microscale BMB, with a diameter of human hair, is tagged with immunochemistry or molecular probes, allowing the digital barcode to be easily scanned and accurately identified for a very high number (4,096 barcodes) of biological targets with no ambiguity.

Applied BioCode, Inc. products focus on the $4.5 billion molecular diagnostic infectious disease segment of the market with assays that detect pathogens for gastrointestinal infections, respiratory infections and other high value diseases. The company has currently received FDA Clearance for the BioCode® MDx-3000 system with a 17-plex Gastrointestinal Pathogen Panel (GPP) and a 17-plex Respiratory Pathogen Panel (RPP). The Gastrointestinal Pathogen Panel (GPP) has also obtained the CE-Mark for use in European countries conforming to CE-Mark regulations. In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, Applied BioCode, Inc. also manufactures a BioCode® SARS-CoV-2 Assay, authorized by the FDA under the Emergency Use Authorization (EUA).

Applied BioCode, Inc. also partners with a variety of diagnostic and pharmaceutical companies with applications that include the infectious disease, autoimmune disease, allergy, gut microbiome, and veterinary diagnostics.
