Arizona Animal Welfare League (AAWL) is a Phoenix-based nonprofit focused on animal welfare. It rescues, rehabilitates, and re-homes thousands of dogs and cats abandoned or surrendered in the region, often pulling from Maricopa County shelters where resources are stretched. The organization operates a shelter with about 140 cats and 190 dogs, and relies on a foster network of roughly 90 families to care for younger or recovering animals while they await adoption.

Its primary audience includes individuals and families seeking to adopt pets, as well as community members seeking guidance on responsible animal care. By combining sheltering, fostering, adoption programs, and public education, AAWL addresses pet homelessness and the social factors that lead to relinquishment. In 2025 it expanded services with mobile vaccine clinics to provide preventive care in schools and community centers, alongside its on-site veterinary offerings.
