Arlington Heights Memorial Library is a public library serving Arlington Heights, Illinois, and nearby communities, with a catchment of about 75,000 residents. It operates from a single building and is widely regarded as one of the busiest libraries of its type in the country. In 2021 it opened Makerplace, an 8,000-square-foot makerspace dedicated to hands-on experiential learning. In 2022 the library earned a five-star rating from Library Journal for the 11th time, a distinction shared by only a few public libraries nationwide. As a mid-sized public library, AHML engages in partnerships to expand its offerings, such as a 2023 collaboration with the Jewish Community Centers of Chicago on Violins of Hope, reflecting its role in cultural and community programming.
