The Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) is a political advocacy organization based in the Washington, DC area. It operates through a network of offices, chapters, supporters, and affiliated groups across the United States and worldwide to advance Armenian American concerns on a broad range of policy issues. Its core objectives are to raise public awareness about Armenia as a free, united, and independent state, influence U.S. policy on matters affecting Armenian Americans, and act as a liaison between the community and elected officials. In pursuing these aims, ANCA advocates for legislative initiatives to strengthen Armenia’s security and democratic development, supports Nagorno Karabakh’s right to self-determination within secure borders, seeks increased U.S. aid to Armenia and direct aid to Nagorno Karabakh, and campaigns for recognition of the Armenian Genocide while urging Turkey and Azerbaijan to lift blockades and uphold humanitarian standards.
