Armory Advisors LLC is an investment manager that focuses on special situations in the event-driven, distressed universe. The Armory team consists of professionals with extensive experience in portfolio management, valuation analysis, trading, and operations. Armory Advisors investment objective is to achieve superior, uncorrelated returns by investing in troubled companies with the proper fundamentals for a successful turnaround. These companies may be underperforming for various reasons including excess leverage, cyclical downturns, or lack of interest. Many investments are in securities of companies created following the restructuring process. Such securities are often neglected due to lack of formal research coverage or lack of natural buyers. The Fund invests in a wide variety of securities including bank debt, bonds, convertible bonds, trade claims, preferred stock, and common stock. Our emphasis is on smaller capital structures and market capitalizations, where inefficiencies tend to be greater. The portfolio is constructed using a bottom-up approach, based on fundamental research of specific credits. Investments are fairly concentrated, and risk management is achieved through strict adherence to style, with a focus on fundamental balance sheet analysis and cash-flow valuation.
