Founded in Louisville, Kentucky in 2004, Art Sanctuary was established under the humanist principle that “Your Life is Your Art.” As a community arts collective, its mission is to provide support for local artists through promotions, events, and education. Art Sanctuary embraces all local artists who need a place to exhibit, perform, or create their original artwork, especially those who cannot obtain space to exhibit or perform from traditional sources because of financial or other limitations. Art Sanctuary not only provides opportunity for connection and open-minded thinking for artists and audiences alike, the organization is committed to adding to the arts cultural flavor found in our Possibility City, as known as Louisville. Art Sanctuary supports the viability and vitality of the region’s art community and is a stand for keeping that scene alive and interesting.
