Artadia is a nonprofit grantmaking organization and nationwide community of visual artists, curators, and patrons, founded in 1999 and based in Brooklyn, New York. It selects artists who have reached a turning point in their practice, evaluating them on artistic excellence, sustained practice, and a distinctive voice. The program provides unrestricted awards in seven cities—Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, and the San Francisco Bay Area— and supplements that with additional grants through program partners to extend its reach. As a small nonprofit within the arts sector, Artadia supports participants across the United States through its award system and community network. In 2023, it named Patton Hindle as executive director, marking a leadership transition.
