ArtPrize is an open, independently organized international art competition held annually in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It invites participation from artists of all disciplines worldwide, with venues across the city offering spaces to display work. Over a 16-day period, the event transforms public spaces—from parks to bridges and storefronts to galleries—into exhibition sites. Prizes and grants are awarded to artists through a mix of grants and a public prize determined via a mobile app. Founded in 2009, ArtPrize has drawn millions of participants who engage with art and the conversations it spurs. In 2025, the organization launched Common Object, reflecting ongoing evolution of its programming.
