Artula Institute for Arts & Environmental Education focuses on expressing and teaching environmental issues through artistic practice. The organization combines art-making with environmental education, offering retreats and residencies in Bandon, Oregon, and educational programming for all ages that emphasizes reuse and reclamation of waste materials. A notable project is Washed Ashore, which interprets ocean plastic pollution as large-scale educational art to raise awareness and understanding of environmental challenges. Based in Gloucester, Massachusetts, the Institute operates within the Museums, Historical Sites, and Zoos sector, and appears to maintain a small organizational profile. The work serves educators, artists, and community members seeking experiential, place-based approaches to environmental topics through creative media.
