Established in 1971, Asahi Kasei America has been serving as an administrative office for a number of Asahi Kasei locations in the North America region as well as handling sales of several products. The global headquarters is located in Japan where our material, homes, and health care business sectors operate with diverse products ranging from electronic parts used in smartphones, performance resins for automotive applications, and pharmaceuticals to medical devices such as AEDs that support people's lives. There are more than 34,000 employees around the world, serving customers in more than 100 countries. Through two large scale acquisitions of American companies, ZOLL Medical in 2012 and Polypore International in 2015, Asahi Kasei has been rapidly expanding its business in North America. In July 2018, the company announced another decision to acquire Sage Automotive Interiors, a US-based manufacturer of automotive interior material, to accelerate its automotive-related business.
