Asbury United Methodist Church has a long and rich history. Beginning in our ministry in 1888, we were a mission of First Methodist Episcopal Church South and Winfield Episcopal Methodist Church South. The newly formed congregation first met in an old store building on Eighth Street. In 1906 the church moved to 12th and Schiller ,then in 1982 moved to our current location. Almost immediately the church outgrew its new facilities. More classrooms and parking were needed. The vision we have as a community of faith reaching out to West Little Rock in ministry and service to God is the same vision that those pioneers had in 1888 when a mission was started in an old grocery store. Like those early members of Asbury, we too will reach out to do what is needed to fulfill our calling. Our challenge today is to be all God calls us to be. Worship Schedule and Styles: Sunday Morning 9:00 A.M.: Sanctuary Worship - The sanctuary service is a more formal style of worship in which we worship God through traditional hymns, the historic Creeds, responsive readings, a traditional choir, and the proclamation of the Word. 10:00 A.M.: Sunday School Classes-For Children, Youth and Adults. 11:00 A.M.: The LAUNCH Worship (Wilson Activity Center) - The LAUNCH service is a more relaxed setting in which we worship God alongside a praise and worship band. We join together in worship through contemporary and modern songs accompanied by multi-media, as well as, hear the Word proclaimed and how it relates to our lives today. Please check the church website for upcoming services.
