Aseer Development Authority (ASDA) is a formally established government body based in Abha, in the Aseer Region, charged with supervising the planning and execution of a regional development strategy. Its mandate includes delivering integrated regional development and ensuring coordinated, high-quality implementation of major infrastructure projects through collaboration among development actors. Tourism is a central priority, with a focus on the Saudi middle-class leisure traveler while also accommodating international visitors, leveraging five distinct tourism development areas that span coast, mountains, and desert. ASDA plans to mix affordable assets with luxury anchor projects, incorporating high-end initiatives supported by Public Investment Fund-backed developments. The authority targets 8.6 million visits by 2030, driven primarily by domestic leisure travelers and international tourists. In November 2024, ASDA awarded the main contract for a project named The Point to Built Industrial Company.
