Ashay By The Bay is a small educational organization based in Vallejo, California, founded in 1997. It operates primarily in the primary and secondary education space, with a focus on African American and multi-cultural children’s literature and related educational products, as well as an accompanying mentoring program. The company offers a range of activities and services, including an online and onsite book fair operation and a school-focused collection-building service announced in 2026, aimed at providing schools, families, and communities access to diverse books and learning materials. Its Mindful Messages initiative supports youth through a mentoring program that emphasizes health, culture, and life skills for children aged 6 to 14, and its publishing work includes books and workbooks that employ Africentric themes through spoken word and mindful meditation. The organization positions itself as a resource for schools and communities seeking culturally diverse literature and youth development programs, operating with a goal to expand nationally through local independent sales channels.
