Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College is a public higher education institution based in Asheville, North Carolina, and the largest in Western North Carolina. As part of the NC Community College System, it offers more than 190 degrees, diplomas, and certificates, along with extensive workforce training and continuing education programs. The college serves over 23,000 students annually across Buncombe and Madison counties and operates multiple campuses, including the main Asheville campus, Enka, Madison, Woodfin, with a future location planned at Biltmore Park West. The Enka campus houses specialized centers, including the Small Business Center and Business Incubation Program, the Craft Beverage Institute of the Southeast, and the NC BioNetwork. Founded in 1959, A-B Tech has developed a range of centers and partnerships to support local workforce needs. In 2026, the A-B Tech Foundation received LeadingEdge North Carolina’s Excellence in Innovation Award for its Voices & Visions intergenerational oral history project.
