Asia Society Texas Center operates as the Houston outpost of Asia Society, a global educational organization with 13 locations worldwide. It advances mutual understanding and stronger Asia-West partnerships through locally relevant programs in arts and culture, business and policy, education, and community outreach. Located in Houston, the center engages a diverse community through its cultural and educational offerings within the museums and cultural sector. It serves as a regional cultural and educational venue aligned with the broader aims of the Asia Society network. 
It serves Houston's diverse audiences and institutions by fostering education, cultural exchange, and policy dialogue. As part of a global network, the center operates with a small local team in Houston, and, in January 2026, Asia Society announced the appointment of Kevin Rudd as President and CEO.
