AsReader, Inc. develops portable RFID readers and writers and barcode scanners that integrate with mobile devices and PCs, enabling data capture in field or on-the-go scenarios. Its flagship device is a UHF RFID reader/writer housed in a compact, shirt-pocket-sized case, with a longer-range gun-style model introduced to reach up to 12 meters and capable of reading more than 1,000 tags per second.  AsReader is a wholly owned subsidiary of Asterisk, Inc., headquartered in Osaka, Japan, with a U.S. presence in Portland, Oregon, and offices in Tokyo, China, and the Netherlands. The company serves customers in sectors that rely on mobile data capture and asset tracking and participates in industry events such as MODEX and NRF. A notable 2025 development was the launch of the ASR-M30S SLIM-Type smartphone-mounted RFID reader/writer.
