The Association for Visual Arts is a Chattanooga-based nonprofit organization focused on strengthening and promoting the local visual arts ecosystem. Its work engages visual artists, art enthusiasts, and arts-based institutions throughout the greater Chattanooga area, with a goal of fostering a healthy, thriving arts community. The AVA operates a gallery on Frazier Avenue in the North Shore neighborhood, presenting rotating main-gallery exhibitions and hosting at least six shows each year that reflect its membership, alongside the Landis Education Gallery, which showcases works by local students and nonprofit art groups. In addition to exhibitions, AVA runs programs such as critique groups, artist talks, member socials, workshops, and exhibition receptions to support artists at different stages. Recent activity includes presenting the 25th Annual 4 Bridges Arts Festival at the First Horizon Pavilion on the southside of downtown Chattanooga, illustrating its role in regional arts events.
