The Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities (ACCU) is a national nonprofit organization focused on higher education, founded in 1899 and based in Washington, DC. It functions as the collective voice for U.S. Catholic higher education, coordinating programs and services to strengthen the Catholic identity and mission of its member institutions. Its goal is to support those within Catholic higher education in contributing to the broader good of society and the Church. The ACCU serves a network of Catholic colleges and universities in the United States and operates as a small to mid-sized organization. Recent developments include ACCU’s planned involvement in Mount Saint Mary College’s 63rd commencement in May 2026, with Donna M. Carroll, Ed.D., the ACCU president, slated to deliver the keynote. In February 2026, Amy C. Novak was appointed Chair of the ACCU Board of Directors.
