Athleticare Sports Health Foundation is a nonprofit organization seeking to create safer high school sports programs. It was founded in 2014 by Dr. Ronald Wagner.  Dr. Wagner, a life-long athlete himself, noticed the number of high school sports programs in St. Louis, MO that were ill-equipped to run safely.  Sports are cornerstone programs at many high schools and a lack of safety can lead to injury-prone activities and even the untimely end of young athlete’s sports careers.  Dr. Wagner knew that the only way to address this problem was to increase the access to athletic trainers for these under-served schools. To combat this growing problem, he founded Athleticare Sports Health Foundation with the goal of creating safer sports programs not just in St. Louis, but across the country.  Athleticare also serves as a premier resource for athletic trainers, offering professional and education resources.
