ATMAX Equipment Co. is a machinery manufacturing company based in Tampa, Florida (6902 East 7th Avenue, 33619). It was founded in 2001 by Tim Ward and his father, David Ward Jr., to develop compact equipment for the landscaping and construction industries to improve productivity and profitability. By 2006, ATMAX had developed the world’s only rubber-tracked, truck-mounted forklift for delivering sod and building material. After the 2008 downturn, the company shifted toward the industrial mower market, developing a compact, heavy-duty wide-area mower for governments, the MowerMax, and subsequently the western hemisphere’s first purpose-built boom mower designed to surpass tractor-mounted models. The company reports revenue in the range of $10 million to $25 million and employs between 11 and 50 people.
