The Augustinian Province of Saint Thomas of Villanova is a religious community based in Villanova, Pennsylvania. It is part of the Order of Saint Augustine, a historic group founded in the 13th century when Italian hermits united under a common Rule to pursue contemplation and evangelization. As the order grew, it evolved from a primarily eremitic tradition toward a mixed life that combines contemplation with pastoral ministry within the Mendicant Movement. The province represents a regional expression of that Augustinian heritage, maintaining a relatively small community focused on sustaining monastic and apostolic life in the United States. A 2025 news item notes the appointment of Prevost to a leadership role within the Augustinian Order, reflecting ongoing governance and engagement in education and human rights initiatives.
