In 1973, Dr. George Brown, a radiation oncology specialist at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, came to Austin with the dream of bringing state-of-the-art cancer care and cutting-edge capabilities closer to home. He built the group that would become Austin Cancer Center on two simple principles: Provide the highest standard of care, and do it with heartfelt compassion and personal dedication to innovation and excellence in cancer care.
