The Australian Airports Association (AAA) operates as the national voice for airports and aerodromes across Australia within the airlines and aviation sector. Founded in 1982, it was created to provide a coherent and united advocacy platform for airports nationwide. Based in Barton, Australian Capital Territory, it represents more than 340 airports and aerodromes and about 150 corporate members supplying goods and services to the sector. The association facilitates cooperation among member airports and their partners and aims to support an air transport system that is safe, secure, environmentally responsible, and efficient for passengers, freight, and communities. In 2025, the AAA released its Sustainable Aviation Fuel Accounting Policy Position, developed in partnership with ICF International. This development underscores the association's involvement in shaping national policy related to airport activities and sustainability within the aviation sector.
