ABGF operates as a dedicated growth capital fund focused on Australian SMEs, helping them realise their potential. It uses a public-private partnership model that brings together the Federal Government and six major banks to bridge the gap between venture capital and private equity. The fund takes minority stakes in companies and provides more than capital by offering capability and connections, while keeping the business in the hands of its leaders.

Based in Melbourne, ABGF is positioned as one of the leading growth capital investors in Australia and is the only purpose-built vehicle for the SME sector. It was launched in 2021 and continues to operate within the Australian financial services landscape. A recent development includes the appointment of Catherine Robson and Kee Wong as non-executive directors to the board in 2024.
