The Australian Indigenous Education Foundation (AIEF) is a non-profit organization based in Surry Hills, Sydney, New South Wales, established in 2008 to respond to community demand for Indigenous children to attend boarding schools. It provides scholarship funding for Indigenous students to complete Year 12 or tertiary studies and offers career support to help them transition to their chosen fields, operating under a parent- and school-led model with co-funding from AIEF and partner schools. Supported by business, philanthropic, and community leaders, AIEF has grown from one scholarship recipient in 2008 to over 1,500 young Indigenous people from more than 400 communities across every state and territory in Australia. The organization describes itself as non-political and non-religious, aiming to respect diverse personal beliefs and maintain non-partisanship on political, social, and religious issues. AIEF employs between 51 and 200 people and reports annual revenue in the range of $1 million to $10 million.
