Autism Community Network was formed to meet a primary concern for the growing prevalence of autism and the rapid rise in demand for quality diagnostic services. After a community planning project, ACN was incorporated in 2008 and opened its clinic to the community in 2009. ACN relocated to the Medical Center in 2013. In 2022 ACN purchased 535 Bandera Road with full renovations completed in July, 2023. ACN offers the following neurodiversity affirming programs: Diagnostic services for infants and children, Holistic and parent mediated interventions for children and families affected by autism, Classes for caregivers affected by autism, Professional development for professionals serving children with autism, Continued care coordination, Community outreach and awareness, and Quality of life programming (Camp AUSOME!, Family Events, Community Collaborations). The primary purpose of ACN is to improve the health and quality of life of autistic children by providing early, strengths-based, and uniquely tailored diagnostic services to children suspected of having autism, therapies to families impacted by autism, and support through training for caregivers and providers whose interaction with autistic children is critical to their success. Additionally, ACN works diligently to educate the community about autism and, to the best of our ability, the experience of the impacted family and autistic individual.
