Badger State Ethanol, LLC operates a dry-mill ethanol facility in Monroe, Wisconsin. Founded in May 2000, the plant began production in October 2002 with an initial capacity of 40 million gallons of ethanol and 128,000 tons of animal feed. It produces distiller grains products, including distillers dried grains with solubles, as well as 50% corn protein feed and corn oil, and it captures carbon dioxide for use in the food industry. The company is targeting a production increase to more than 85 million gallons of ethanol per year. In 2023, it was recognized with Compeer Financial's 2022 Food & Agribusiness of the Year award.
