The Bagaduce Music Lending Library collects, preserves, and lends printed sheet music and scores, and provides music education programs. Founded in 1983, it began in a garage on the Maine coast and later moved to Blue Hill, establishing itself as an international resource center for printed music. It houses a broad collection across many genres, excluding marching band, and operates as a non-profit sustained in part by volunteers. In 2022, the library partnered with Carnegie Hall Corporation to co-commission a new string quartet work on climate change by Akshaya Tucker.
