Balance Autism is a nonprofit organization in the mental health care sector based in Altoona, Iowa. It traces its origins to 1991, when a group of parents and professionals explored new living and working opportunities for adults with autism, and it was established in 1994 as The Homestead, a farm-centered program where adults with autism could live and work.
