Banaras Hindu University is a major higher education and research institution based in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, founded in 1916. In March 2026, BHU collaborated with the Anthropological Survey of India to host a two-day BHU-AnSI Paleogenomics and Paleoarchaeology Symposium at the Department of Zoology in Varanasi.
