Bank Keshavarzi, also known as the Agriculture Bank of Iran, is Iran's first financial institution specialized in agriculture and a major state-owned bank. It was founded on June 11, 1933, and its corporate headquarters are in Tehran. The bank operates four strategic business units: Personal and Small Business Banking, Commercial Banking, Investment, and Finance & Insurance. It provides credit facilities and low-interest loans to agricultural development projects, supporting rural areas, and, per the Central Bank of Iran, its contribution to agriculture is over 70%. The bank maintains a nationwide network of about 1,800 branches serving more than 20 million clients. It is the only financial institution in Iran that implements the Tata Consultancy Services' TCS BaNCS core banking platform.
