Bank Muamalat, based in Malaysia and founded on 1 October 1999, operates as a full-fledged Islamic bank governed by the Islamic Financial Services Act 2013. Its offerings span retail and corporate needs, providing individuals with deposit accounts, asset management, and financing for vehicles, housing, and personal use, while serving corporate and institutional clients with cash management, payments, trade and export finance, foreign exchange, and capital market services. The bank maintains a nationwide presence through about 68 branches and a digital and ATM network, including i-Muamalat and e-Muamalat at roughly 240 locations. Bank Muamalat is part of the DRB-HICOM Berhad Group, with the public-listed parent owning about 70% of the bank and Khazanah Nasional Berhad holding the remainder. It is also a member of Perbadanan Insurans Deposit Malaysia. In 2025, it launched ATLAS, a Shariah-compliant digital bank developed with Backbase.
