Bank Rakyat Malaysia is a Kuala Lumpur–based banking institution that operates as the largest Islamic cooperative bank in Malaysia. It was established on 28 September 1954 under the Cooperative Ordinance 1948 and transitioned in 2002 from conventional banking to a Syariah‑based system.
