The Battersea Power Station project in London is a real estate development centered on the Grade II* listed power station and its 42-acre brownfield site, being transformed into a mixed-use urban neighborhood. The plan encompasses homes, offices, retail, dining, community facilities, cultural venues, and 19 acres of public space, with accessibility supported by a Zone 1 extension to the Northern Line. The power station is now open to the public for the first time, and the project is organized into seven phases designed by leading architects, with completion anticipated in 2025. Located in Nine Elms, central London’s largest regeneration site, the project anchors a developing diplomatic quarter with the relocation of the US and Dutch embassies to the area and is adjacent to the South Bank near Chelsea and Westminster. It is positioned to serve residents, workers, and visitors seeking a sustainable, mixed-use urban community and is expected to generate employment opportunities and broader investment in the surrounding area. In 2026, Studio Egret West was appointed as master planner and urban designer for the remaining 16 acres, and Sisk Group was named the main contractor for the latest Gehry Partners–designed phase.
