Bay Area Green Tours provides educational tours and events that demonstrate the sustainable economy in action, inspire support of local green businesses, and empower people to incorporate environmental responsibility and social justice into their personal and professional lives. Founded in 2008, Bay Area Green Tours has evolved into a leading experiential educational organization dedicated to showcasing innovative regenerative practices through tours and events. We act as a bridge, connecting people to ideas for a more sustainable tomorrow through site tours and conversations with changemakers, and hands-on experiences. The inspiration for Bay Area Green Tours began with a simple yet profound question posed during a childhood field trip to a wastewater treatment plant in New York City: *"Where does all the waste go?"* This moment sparked the lifelong environmental passion of our Founding Executive Director, Marissa LaMagna. Since then, Marissa has championed proactive solutions to ensure the health and well-being of our planet for future generations. Today, Bay Area Green Tours designs group experiences for school field trips, corporate team building, family gatherings, and conference activations. Tours vary based on each group’s goals and needs, and have included visits to regenerative farms, indigenous gardens, artisanal food producers, and social justice organizations. Our team is made up of many exceptional volunteers who are passionate about our mission. Our Mission is to inspire and educate youth and adults to build a more enduring, resilient and just future by creating interactive experiences that highlight the regenerative economy in action.
