The Bay Area Teacher Training Institute (BATTI) operates within the higher education sector, offering two-year combined Master’s and credential programs for educators in the Bay Area. Based in Oakland, California, the organization partners with Holy Names University to sponsor its programs, and it emphasizes a model in which students work full-time in elementary settings while pursuing evening and weekend coursework. The institute provides two degrees that integrate credentialing with graduate study: a Master of Arts in Education paired with a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership paired with an Administrative Services Credential. Close mentorship and collaborative support underpin BATTI’s approach, aiming to balance professional practice with advanced study over the two-year timeline. The target audience comprises Bay Area teachers and aspiring educational leaders who continue to work in schools as they complete their degrees and credentials.
