Baylands Family Credit Union operates as a state-chartered, community‑focused financial cooperative based in West Point, Virginia. It was established more than seven decades ago to address the financial needs of the West Point paper mill's employees and their families, and it has since grown to serve a broader membership. As a not‑for‑profit institution owned and run by its members, Baylands concentrates on providing a full spectrum of financial services with lower loan rates, higher savings rates, and fewer fees.

Membership is open to individuals who live, work, worship, attend school, or volunteer in nine Virginia counties—Chesterfield, James City, New Kent, King William, King & Queen, Middlesex, Essex, Gloucester and Mathews—plus immediate family members of existing members, with membership lasting a lifetime. In January 2025, Baylands was recognized with the Desjardins Financial Education Award for Virginia for its financial education efforts.
