BC Housing is a provincial Crown corporation within British Columbia's government administration, based in Burnaby. Founded in 1967, it operates under the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing to advance housing as a public-interest mission. The agency develops, manages, and administers subsidized housing options across the province, licenses residential builders and administers owner-builder authorizations, and conducts research and education to support the construction industry, consumers, and the affordable-housing sector. Its work relies on partnerships with local governments and community organizations to advance housing initiatives across the province. A notable recent development is the May 2026 grand opening of The Residences on 5th in Peachland, a seniors’ affordable housing project delivered in partnership with the Peachland Seniors' Support Society, the District of Peachland, BC Housing, and CMHC.
