BDPA is a non-profit professional association for people working in or interested in computer science and information technology. Founded in 1976 by Earl Pace and David Wimberly as a local group, it grew into a national organization with 46 chapters and is based in Largo, Maryland. It offers career development resources such as online job postings, mentorship networks, career fairs, and instructor-led or online courses, along with the Executive Protégé Program. Large employers frequently participate in its chapter events and national conference, connecting members with opportunities and industry leaders. BDPA is scheduled to host its 2026 National Conference in Indianapolis from July 15–18.
