Beanstalk is a private, nonprofit organization operating in the education administration field, with a focus on supporting families through child care, development, and nutrition programs. Originating in 1973 as a pilot project at California State University, Sacramento, the agency evolved from Community Child Care Programs into B. J. Jordan Child Care Programs, Inc., and later adopted the Beanstalk name to reflect its mission of helping families raise healthy children. Based in Sacramento, California, the organization provides tuition assistance, free programs, and access to the Child Care Food Program, serving families with limited financial resources and broader community needs for high-quality child care and development. Its operations are organized under a 501(c)(3) nonprofit structure, and it serves a range of families and communities through centers and satellite locations. In 2024, Beanstalk was noted in public news in connection with a cast appointment for a Santa beanstalk-related production, illustrating its ongoing presence in the broader community landscape.
