Bello Machre means home of my heart in Gaelic. We provide homes and support to children, teens, adults, and seniors with developmental disabilities. More importantly, we provide a lifetime commitment to enrich the lives of those we serve through loving care, guidance, and opportunity. Employing over 350 skilled professionals, we have the capability to serve 200 people in 60 community homes throughout Central and Western Maryland. Bello Machre also provides help and support to more than 100 children, adults, and families in their own homes. The Hertha and Jesse Adams Ray of Hope Program helps families by offering assistance with expenses such as specialized summer camp, physical therapy, and adaptive equipment. Trained and caring staff provide residential respite care during family hospitalizations, emergencies, and vacations-- 24 hours a day-- seven days a week. The Meaningful Day Program provides individualized day services including supported employment; job development and training; and community-based social, recreational, and educational opportunities. Our goal is that each person we support be engaged in all aspects of community life. Bello Machre is there to help with whatever is needed, empowering people with developmental disabilities to live life to its fullest. Bello Machre is a 501(c) (3) organization registered with the State of Maryland Secretary of State, regulated by the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, and licensed by the Maryland Office of Health Care Quality. We serve children, adults, and families without regard to race, religion, gender, or national origin.
