Beta Theta Pi is a national fraternity in the civic and social organizations space, focused on developing men of principle through a brotherhood that supports personal growth and strengthens host campuses. It emphasizes mutual assistance, intellectual growth, trust, responsible conduct and integrity as guiding values that shape member experiences and campus involvement. Founded in 1839 at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, Beta Theta Pi has grown to more than 150,000 members, including about 9,000 collegiate brothers on roughly 140 campuses in the United States and Canada. The organization is based in Oxford, Ohio, and operates across a network of campuses. In February 2023, Beta Theta Pi partnered with the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Institute for Aviation Research to conduct the first-ever 50-foot drop tests of its full-scale battery packs to inform safety standards and potential certification pathways.
