BIBA is the United Kingdom's leading trade association for general insurance intermediaries, representing insurance brokers, intermediaries, and their customers. It serves as the sector's principal voice to members, government, regulators, and consumer bodies on insurance issues, providing industry insights and broker support, and coordinating updates from the organizers of the BIBA Conference. Its membership comprises around 1,800 regulated firms and more than 100,000 people, reflecting a broad footprint in the market. Collectively, UK general insurance intermediaries handle a sizable portion of business, arranging about 74% of general insurance with premiums totaling £85.8 billion and 93% of all commercial insurance.
